I have 1979 Cutlass Supreme with a 260 V8, that runs very strong and idles very quietly. Whenever I drive for a while and come to a stop and step on the gas pedal it will stall. Would this suggest the carburetor needs to be adjusted, idle needs to be adjusted or something else? It has a new gas filter and plugs and wires are fine.

How Sportsmanship Relates to Life

As players in organized sports, respect is an integral part of any game,  states Sean Dailey, Fort Decatur Recreation Center supervisor. Players must respect game officials, coaches, teammates and members of the opposing team to be successful. Players must even have a strong respect for the game itself by learning the rules and abiding by them. This respect learned through sportsmanship easily transcends the sports arena and applies readily to life with respect for others, for laws and even for the self by making positive decisions about conduct and actions.

Sportsmanship teaches players how to win and lose graciously, according to Hall of Fame baseball star Cal Ripken Jr.  As the object of the game involves winning, it understandable for a winning team to become jubilant and excited with victory. However, the triumphant team should remember that winning isn the only objective, with enjoying the process and learning new skills also being key aspects. A certain amount of humility is also important, because a winning team could also make mistakes that might cost a victory. Conversely, losing also requires sportsmanship skills to keep the loss in perspective. With a loss, players should analyze mistakes, focus on positives and congratulate the winner. When applying these principles to  other areas of life, lessons include doing your best, maintaining composure, feeling pride in efforts and acting respectfully whether you win or lose.

LaMarcus Aldridge tells Portland Trail Blazers he is leaving the team

LaMarcus Aldridge is leaving the Portland Trail Blazers. The frustrating news for Blazers fans seems to be official, as sources close to Aldridge state that he has already told the organization that he is leaving in free agency. According to a report from Yahoo! Sports on Thursday (June 25), the relationship between the All Star power forward and the front office in Portland had deteriorated over the past year. Now he will become one of the prized free agents available during the NBA offseason.

Aldridge had his best season with the Blazers last year, averaging 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. It didn't lead to postseason success, though, which could be one of the reasons he is leaving the team. A lot was placed on his shoulders when the Blazers played the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2015 NBA Playoffs, but he just couldn't carry the team through all the injuries.

It's unclear what the next step is going to be for Aldridge, as there are a lot of other teams that are ready to pursue him in free agency. The Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Lakers have all expressed some form of interest in the big man. He is from Dallas, so a return there would make sense, but the bright lights of Los Angeles could also be very alluring.

This is where the front office of the Portland Trail Blazers needs to work hard on constructing a sign and trade deal with another franchise. That would get Aldridge the most money possible, and it would make sure  to agree to that as a free agent, so he could simply walk away and leave Rip City in the rearview mirror. The next step for Portland may not be an exciting one for Blazers fans, as a rebuilding process may have just begun.

NBA star team up again

CLEVELAND LeBron James couldn't leave Las Vegas without making  one last creative move off the court.

In addition to broadening his image through the venture, James is hoping the innovative website will motivate youngsters worldwide with positive messages of encouragement and his own story of perseverance.

"I've always wanted to have a place where kids can see all aspects of my personality where I can really talk with them about where I came from, what I do, what I have achieved in my life and what my goals are," James said. "Kids can follow me on a day to day basis, and I want to inspire them."

James' interest in working with kids appealed to Microsoft, which first partnered with the 22 year old last summer as one of the sponsors of his annual King for Kids Bike a Thon in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.

The leading vote getter for this year's All Star game held Sunday, James appeared in TV ads for Microsoft's launch of its Windows Vista operating system. He is also the first NBA player the Redmond, Wash. based software giant has used to promote its products, and he may do more projects in the future.

For James, the partnership with Microsoft was a natural. He was already a fan of Xbox, the company's wildly popular video gaming system before adding the company to his impressive business portfolio. James has more than $150 million in endorsement deals with Nike, Sprite and other companies.

On the new website, people can watch videos to learn more about James' life on and off the basketball court. There are also places to enter contests; download pictures and other images of James; and check on his latest statistics and see how the Cavaliers are doing.

But the website's primary intent, James said, is to help educate youngsters through activities and challenges.

James, who was raised by a single mother,  will offer kids practical advice from his own experiences, struggles and successes. They can then chart their progress and share stories with others.

NBA Star Talks Proposal To High School Sweetheart VIDEO

NBA star LeBron James will  appear this Sunday on Oprah's "Next Chapter," and in a preview clip, James tells the host about the lead up to his proposal to his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson.

"I was nervous. It felt like before a finals game," James told Oprah.

James proposed to Brinson at a New Year's Eve celebration last year and, just like  for a finals game, he asked his teammates to help him prepare for the big moment. Throughout the party, fellow Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade held the $300,000 engagement ring that James planned to give to Brinson.

"I didn't want her to bump up against me and felt [sic] the ring," James said.

Brinson said "yes" to the proposal and flaunted her sparkler at a Heat game after the New Year. James and Brinson have yet to announce a date for their wedding.

The pair have been together for eight years and have two sons together, Bryce and LeBron, Jr.

James is one of many celebs who is engaged to a "regular" person. Click through the slideshow below to test your knowledge of celeb 'regular' people pairings.
