Pontiac Grand Prix

The Pontiac Grand Prix was introduced in 1962. John DeLorean was head of Advanced Engineering at Pontiac during this time and contributed to the development of the Grand Prix. The G-body version of the Grand Prix is the fourth generation of the Pontiac Grand Prix. During this period, GM phased out the Pontiac V8 engine, replacing it with Chevy and Oldsmobile engines.

As with the Monte Carlo, the Pontiac Grand Prix came in an aerocoupe version in 1986 in order to meet NASCAR requirements. The was referred to as the Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2, which had an aero nose, bubble rear window, and a trunklid with a spoiler. They were only available in silver with 2+2 decals and striping.
